Dylan MarcAurele is a New York-based writer and composer. Highlights: 2023 Richard Rodgers Award (for composing Lewis Loves Clark); 2023 & 2021 Jonathan Larson Grant Finalist; 2020-21 Dramatists Guild Foundation Fellowship. He wrote book/music/lyrics for POP OFF, MICHELANGELO! (Edinburgh Fringe 2024, prod. Blair Russell; developed at the Johnny Mercer Writers Grove at Goodspeed), MEG4N (prod. Tim Drucker & Jim Lanahan), The Real Housewives of New York: The Parody Musical (dir. Marc Tumminelli). He composed the score for interactive dark comedy Tea with G (reading dir. Scott Schwartz), the family musical The Land of Forgotten Toys (“This score could compete with a lot of far more famous holiday attractions...You might want to catch this show just to hear MarcAurele’s tunes.”—Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune), and several youth musicals licensed through Broadway Licensing and TRW. His play God Gives Ryan a Very Important Job was produced at the 2023 Samuel French OOB Festival and received an encore performance as a Top 13 finalist. Online, he created the 28,000-follower channel @RHONYmusical as featured twice on Watch What Happens Live, and for television, wrote the opening number for the inaugural Bravo awards in Las Vegas, sung by Andy Cohen and the cast of Vanderpump Rules.
He is a current member of Theatre Now NY’s Musical Writers Lab and a proud alumnus of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals (composer: HPT166, HPT168), the BMI Musical Theater Workshop, and the Signet Society. He holds a B.A. in Music from Harvard University, ’16.
